Research
I study how nineteenth-century Swedish novels represent interiority, using computational models of narrative perspective. My current work tests whether character-level language models can distinguish free indirect discourse from narration.
Before CS research
I trained as a comparative literature scholar and worked for four years as an archivist before moving into computational research.

The value of these perspectives
Close reading habits and archival knowledge of print culture keep my model evaluations grounded in what the source texts actually do.
